Mia's Closet

Pediatric Patients Mia’s Closet is a collection of donated toys, crafts and clothes that will be used in our programs to enrich the lives of pediatric patients, their siblings and school age children in the community. The toys in Mia’s Closet will support the Shine on Siblings program by allowing volunteers access to a variety of arts and crafts, games and toys to entertain the children while they are enjoying the one on one focused attention they so badly need. The toys will also be used as birthday gifts for the siblings when the parents are so overwhelmed with caring for the pediatric patient that they do not have time to shop.

Pediatric Patients The clothing in Mia’s Closet will be distributed between the Emergency Hospital for children needing clothing to wear home after their own clothes have been destroyed in the process of being treated for a trauma and local elementary schools, where at the discretion of the administration, singular items of clothing can be passed on to meet the specific needs of the child in a private and anonymous way. The child will simply receive a “gift” of a new sweatshirt or pair of jeans that they so obviously needed but no one was ever going to request. The clothing may also be distributed among the siblings of a pediatric patient in need.
